Analytics
We count visits so we can tell whether anyone is finding the site. It runs on our own servers — no Google Analytics, no third-party script, nothing loaded from another domain.
For each page view we record:
- the page path and a coarse page type (home, shop, product, legal);
- the hostname of the site that linked you here, if any — never the full URL;
utm_*tags, when a link carries them;- a screen-size bucket (small / medium / large) and the country your request came from.
We set no cookies and store nothing in your browser. To count repeat visits within a day without identifying anyone, our server derives a one-way hash from your IP address and browser user-agent combined with a secret that changes every day. Your IP address and user-agent are never written to storage, and because the secret rotates, a hash from one day cannot be matched to the same visitor on any other day. There is no way for us — or anyone with our data — to follow a person across days or across sites.
Buying something
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. To deliver your purchase and support it afterwards, we store the email address you entered at checkout, which video you bought, the amount, and the Stripe reference — for up to 400 days. Your download link is a single-use-limited token that expires after 72 hours.
Download links are sent through Amazon SES. We record bounces and spam complaints so we can stop emailing an address that does not want it. We do not send marketing email and there is no mailing list.
How long we keep things
Raw analytics events are deleted after 400 days. Daily totals contain no personal data and are kept indefinitely. Order records expire after 400 days; download tokens expire within about three days.
Your rights and contact
Because the analytics data contains nothing that identifies you, we cannot look up "your" analytics record — there isn't one. For anything tied to a purchase, email halim@symbolic-design.com and we will access, correct or delete it.
